BUT...
The judges were so impressed on their visit to the school that even though they didn't shortlist it in the 'WHITE ROSE ARCHITECTURE' award they decided it had to be in with a chance and we actually got the SILVER AWARD, only beaten into second place by the Sheffield University Information Commons building by RMJM architects from London. The judges also gave special recognition to the work of the client and the productive relationship with the Architect and awarded CLIENT OF THE YEAR to the school. We had our photo taken with folks for the Landscape Institute magazine because even though we didn't win folks think the landscape on and around our school is very newsworthy.
Most of the team, what a shame Tom couldn't make it, we'd have loved to have been able to celebrate with him as well.
