We're so sorry
It appears that manay of our visitors who check up on progress on work computers can't see our movie. The rectanlge is just white and doesn't do anything!

It appears that some workplaces like the city council have 'surf control' that blocks some sites and because our movie is stored on 'You Tube' it gets blocked!!!

Well you'll never know what you're missing...unless you can find another computer!

SEE OUR MOVIE...
Tom the Project Manger took some video clips of the crane when it was put up...we have learnt how to put them together like a little film so you can see how the big crane arm was put on.

To start the film click once on the arrow in the middle of the picture and then click once again on the arrow, NOT a 'double click' (as this will take you to 'YOU TUBE' who are looking after our film).

THIS IS THE NEW SCHOOL HALL
AND GYMNASIUM

Yesterday it just seemed like some bits of metal but WOW...today you can see the beginning of the hall.
The crane will have to put over 3 000 pieces of steel into place, together they will weigh more than 150 tonnes and need over 10 000 bolts to hold it all together. There is still a lot of steel frame to put up but it goes up fast, come and have a look through the fence it is really exciting.

STEEL IS GOING UP...
Hooray...
This is the top two floors of the lift shaft showing.
We also went along to a meeting about exactly how our special roof with all the plants and things will be done. Here you can see Nigel (from Sheffield University on the left and Phil Stuart (Quantity Surveyor from Kier-contractor). We sat next to the biscuits!
Nigel is going to design all the planting for the roof and find all the special bio-diverse roof material for the plants to grow in. Together with some of his students he will lay it all out and plant it. More than 1000 square metres of it...that's a lot!
He was also talking about some wonderful 'wildlife apartments' we could make to encourage birds and other things to come and live near our new school, but maybe more about that later.
