PROBLEMS...
Google have a problem with BLOGGER!!!

Our pictures don't load, unless that is, you go back to February.

They are trying to sort it all out but you'll have to bear with us (no pun intended).

NEW PICTURES FROM HSBC FOLKS
7th October 2007
Planting the first floor teaching terrace...with nearly 700 plants!!!

Weeding out some of the spontaneous arrivals.

Wow look at the difference

LOOK AT THIS!
£14,723.05

Thanks to our friends at HSBC for all their help and their contribution to the roof and terrace planting and features.

7th August 2007 4 tons of substrate had to be carried up to the terrace by hand!!!
'Creature Towers/wildlife apartments' take shape (they're more than just bird tables, honest)

Special visitors Gordon & Hilary Giltrap get a special tour with Barrie.

A job well done.

In the beginning...

We need a lie down...!

Cath (SD & PM architect) and Mark (KIER) gave everyone a look round the rest of the job so they could hear about and see the rest of the eco portfolio that the building uses.

A great piece of teamwork.

The first brave volunteers arrive for induction.

CIBSE conference
(Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers)

Well, here we are in London at the headquarters of the Institute of Building Services Engineers (do you remember what they do from earlier blogs?).
We were introduced to the audience of about 40 folks from interesting places and we helped Cath tell them about the roof on Sharrow School.

Steve from The Environmental Protection Group used Sheffield's Norfolk Community Primary School in his talk...so Sheffield was really on the map!
We got to meet some really interesting poeple who knew a lot about some interesting things, like plants, drainage, green roofs and other stuff. We had our picture taken with Cath and Steve (on the left) who has written a special guide called 'Building Greener' and Dusty on (the right) who knows everything about green roofs and is a juggling coach! Do you remember we met Dusty in 2006 at the Green roof conference in Sheffield before Sharrow even started.

What a long time ago.
